James Paul Steinke, 84, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on 01/07/2026 at his home, surrounded by some of his close friends. Born on 03/12/1941 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Paul Herman Steinke and Sophie Lillian Thomas.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1958. James was a dedicated employee and retired from CSX, known for many accomplishments within the company.
A loving friend, Jim was truly one of a kind. Honest to his core, with a humor of his own, he was tough on the outside but carried a huge heart within. To know Jim was to love him and his friends would often smile and say "That's just Jim."
A Celebration of Jim's life will take place in the near future.
