James R. "Jim" Stephens, 88, of Aurora passed away Wednesday November 12, 2025 at the Avenue at Aurora. On October 26, 1937 he was born in Kingston, PA to the late Richard and Elsie (Rogers) Stephens. He has lived in Aurora since 1991 and was a chemist working for Calgon/Merck Corporation in Pittsburgh and the Nalco Company in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Jim was a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus, active in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carole (Lowcavage) Stephens in June of 1981. Survivors include his wife Joan C. (Twigger) Stephens whom he married October 17, 1987, his children James R. (Gayle) Stephens, Jr., Carolyn (Jaime) McCollum, Robert Stephens, his grandchildren Jacob, Jess, Abigail, Amelia, Sarah, and great grandson Finley James. In honoring his request, cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place in the Spring of 2026. He will be laid to rest in Aurora City Cemetery Aurora, Ohio.
