James Stevenson

James (Jim) Stevenson, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, surrounded by loving family. He was eighty 80 years old. Born in 1941 to Milfred and Dora Stevenson. Jim graduated High School from the University of Minnesota Northwest School of Agriculture, Crookston, MN in 1959. He then studied welding at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN. And went on to work in that profession for 48 years, retiring in 2009.
Jim, like his mother, was highly creative and used his welding skills both to create and to restore.
Jim's life was marked by kindness and generosity. He would go out of his way to help any soul in need. Jim was active in his local church, volunteering for many years leading the boys club. He loved sharing his passion for Jesus while teaching outdoor survival.
Jim also loved machines: farm equipment, tractors, cars, guns, it didn't matter. He loved how things worked and he loved to restore broken things. He often had more vision than time or energy.
Jim is survived by; wife, Rhoda; children: Tammy (Ed) Hoffer, Terri Stevenson, Steve (Shonda) Stevenson; step children, Sheryl (Scott) Englar, Connie (Ramon) Marcos; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Boese; grandchildren; Hannah and Christy Eng, Summer and Soaren Stevenson, Brandon (Deidre) Boese and Aaron Boese, Ryan (Becky) Englar, Nathan (Sarah) Englar, Kristin (Jordan) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Bowden, Caven, Lexon, Eden, Ember, Colton, Zoey; brother, LeRoy (Karen) Stevenson; and sister, Eva (Don) Englar.
Jim is preceded in death by; parents, Milfred and Dora Stevenson; wife, Gloria Boese
Stevenson; step-son, Jr Boese; brother, Hugh (Marlene) Stevenson; sisters-in-law, Loretta Stevenson and Sharon Stevenson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 31, at 2 PM at Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Hopkins Chapel, 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343. Visitation one hour prior. For those who are unable to attend, there will be a livestream available on Jim's page on www.washburn-mcreavy.com
