James Harry Stewart

Jim Stewart passed away on August 27th 2024 in Ponte Vedra Beach Fl. He was 84 years old.Born in Williamsport ,PA. he was the son of Harry and Vera Stewart. In high school he played basketball, baseball and football. His achievements resulted in becoming elected to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame ( West Branch Valley Chapter) . He attended NAPS (Columbia) for a year and reported to USNA in 1960 At Annapolis he played football with great memories and success. "Go Navy Beat Army".

Upon graduation with the class of 63 , he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Navy. Coaching football (Plebe Team) and serving as a flight instructor landed Jim as a Patrol Plane Commander in the P-3 model aircraft. After Navy service (1969) , Jimmy (Stu) served as an airline pilot and flew around the globe with National, Pan Am and Delta Airlines. Upon retirement in the summer of 2000 , Jim and his wife Linda remained in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida . Exercise, playing golf , watching sports ,especially Navy football, was a joy. Dad was always very grateful for the path the Naval Academy was able to pave for him and his lifestyle. Pre deceased by his parents, Jim is survived by his wife Linda and her two sons and granddaughter , Patrick , Fred and Haley . Jim is also survived by 2 of his 3 children Doug and Roger as well as 6 grandchildren. Cameron(34),Tyler (32), Briana (30), Joanna (32) William (4) Emma (3). Jims' eldest child passed in 2019 (Christopher).
