James Henry Stringfield, age 90, of Shelbyville, TN, passed from this life Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Maury County Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN.
He was born on November 28, 1934, in Erin, TN, to the late Wade Ambers Stringfield and Martha Belle Brooks Stringfield.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Patricia Stringfield, Carolyn Carter, Linda Knight, Bobby Joe Stringfield, and Sherry Baggett.
James is survived by his devoted wife of 67 ½ years, Mary Lee Carter Stringfield; sons: Mike (Reba) Stringfield of Tullahoma, TN and Greg (Cheryl Leigh) Stringfield of Madison, AL; sister, Cathey Powers of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Brittany Stringfield, Bethany (Jacob) Brooks, Carter (Kara) Stringfield, Davis (Brooke) Stringfield; great grandchildren: Adelynn and Hudson Brooks, James Everett, Anna Claire, and Noah Stringfield.
James graduated class of 1954, from Houston County High School as class president. He was a quality inspector with Southern Gauge for several years and a quality control supervisor with Stanley Tools from 1973-1999. He enjoyed fishing local waters, playing the harmonica, creating paintings and most of all enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Shelbyville, an ordained Deacon of Cumberland Valley Presbyterian Church of Erin, TN and Bible Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, TN.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, in the Chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Stephens officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Memorial donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church, 608 Neely Ave, Shelbyville, TN 37160.
