James "Jim" Pomeroy Strohecker, 98, beloved husband of the late Julita "Lita" Strohecker, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Born in Seattle, WA, he was the son of the late Franklin and Kathryn Pomeroy Strohecker.
Mr. Strohecker was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and enjoyed many years of involvement with the Boy Scouts.
Jim was a proud World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He later worked as an engineer with Northrop Grumman and Boeing, contributing to the lunar module used in the first moon landing.
He was a man of deep faith, strong work ethic, steadfast family values, and a lifelong commitment to helping his community.
He is survived by his niece, Julie Osborne Blick and her husband, Rob; his nephew, Raymond Osborne and his wife, Susan; and his niece, Kate Strohecker.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James William Strohecker, and his brother, Franklin Strohecker.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Woodlands family; Chris; and the skilled nursing unit for the exceptional care he received. They also extend heartfelt appreciation to Interim Hospice and their dedicated nurses and caregivers, who ensured Jim was always comfortable. Special thanks go to his dear friend Leona Seiler, whose loving diligence ensured his spiritual needs were always met.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Healthcare and Hospice, 100 Verdae Blvd., Greenville, SC 29607.
