Lenora A. Strohecker

Lenora A. Strohecker, 76, of Freeport, IL, passed away on January 8, 2026 at home in her sleep. She was born on May 10, 1949 in Sterling General Hospital in Sterling, IL, to Thomas and Grace (Bonnell) Cantwell. She married Eugene R. Strohecker, the true love of her life, on January 11, 1969 at the Methodist Church in Pearl City, IL. She worked 31 years in dietary / kitchen at Freeport Manor.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene R. Strohecker of Freeport, children: son Richard Strohecker of Freeport, and daughter Angela Mayer of Monroe, WI; grandsons: Hunter A.T. Mayer of Monroe, and James M. Mayer of Monroe; son-in-law Michael J. Mayer of Monroe, brothers: James (Tricia) Cantwell, and Thomas (Connie) Cantwell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends at Willow Park.

She was preceded in death by her mother Grace (Bonnell) Cantwell, father Thomas Cantwell, stepmom Dorothy Ann Cantwell, brothers: Robert Cantwell and John Cantwell; mother-in-law Katherine Strohecker, father-in-law Karl Strohecker, sister-in-law Dorothy Willhite, and brother-in-law Kenny Willhite.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held.
