–Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"

James F. "Jamie" Strungies, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away on November 3, 2025 with his beloved sister, Claire by his side after a long and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 63.

Jamie was the loving son of the late Julius and Carmella Strungies and cherished brother of Rita Pappas of York, Maine and Claire Pappas of Woburn and her late husband, James Michael.

Jamie was raised in the RagRock section of the city and attended St. Charles School and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1980. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from UMass Boston.

In his early years Jamie worked for Material Installations in No. Andover and later at BayBank Middlesex, Burlington until the progression of his MS forced him to retire and those days were spent with his beloved bulldog, Jed.

Jamie is survived by many dear cousins and his loving nieces, Melissa Ross of Weilerbach, Germany and Amy Brautigan of Rockland Maine. Also, dear childhood friend, Valerie Glover of Oakland, Maine.

Jamie was a lover of all music and will always be remembered by his deep faith, beautiful smile and bravery right up to the very end. Jamie would remind us "Let Go, Let God". May his memory be a blessing to all as he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

A special heartfelt thank you to Jamie's Guardian Angels, Mary Rader and Anna Meehan. He was blessed to have them both in his life for the love and compassionate care they gave him.

In lieu of flowers, Jamie asks that you plesse make a remembrance to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. All Services are private and under the direction of Lynch Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Ma 01801.
