James "Jimmy" Subbs, Jr. was born on January 10, 1977, to James and Johnnie Mae Subbs in
Apopka, Florida. From an early age, Jimmy displayed a remarkable blend or talent an early age, determination, and kindness that would define his life.
He attended Apopka High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Jimmy was a proud member of the "Blue Darter" Marching Band, playing the tuba with passion, while also making a signiticant impact on the varsity football team. His leadership and commitment extender beyond school activities-he was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Central Florida YMCA, Black Achievers, Jack & Jill of America, Inc., UCF, Mcknight Achiever, and the winning recipient of a prestigious scholarship from the Orange County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., during their first biennial Beautillion.
After graduating in 1995, Jimmy continued his education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee earning his education in Public Biological and Agricultural Systems Engineering. His career began in Wytheville, Virginia, where he worked as a Safety Engineer with Gatorade. He later returned to Plymouth, Florida, where he applied his skills and dedication at Dent Wizard, rehabilitating vehicles with precision and care.
Jimmy's faith was central to his life. He accepted Christ as a teenager at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ar active member of the Youth Department. Though life took him to different places, his heart always remained connected to Shiloh.
Beyond his accomplishments, Jimmy was a man who cherished life's simple joys-fishing, bowling, and spending time with loved ones. He was active in his community, lending his time and talents to local projects, including the neighborhood signage initiative. Known as a "technical guru," Jimmy was always ready to help anyone in need, embodying generosity and kindness in every interaction.
On Monday, December 15, 2025, the Lord called His angel, Jimmy home. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited with his father, James Subbs, Sr., and his beloved grandparents, Johnnie and Mary Brown, and Lucille and Charlie Subbs.
He leaves cherished memories to his mother, Johnnie May Subbs, Sister, Angela Prioleau (Konell) Winter Garden, FL, Beloved Nephews: Korian Brady, Charlotte, NC and Chad Prioleau (Brittany), Delray Beach, FL, Aunts: Caroline Oliver, Orlando, FL, Alzee Subbs,
Plymouth, FL, Uncles: William Brown, Sacramento, CA, Jerry Subbs, Plymouth, ,FL, Willie Subbs (Linda) Tangerine, FL, Eddie Subbs, Mount Dora, FL, and a host of extended family, cousins and friends, whose lives he touched deeply.
