James Taylor Obituary

MANSFIELD CENTER

James J. Taylor, 72, of Mansfield Center, CT, passed peacefully away on December 30, 2025 into the loving arms of his Savior. Jim was always kind and known to be a gentleman. He spent 20 years in the Navy from 1972. Returning home, he received his college CPA degree. After he retired, he enjoyed singing with his guitar at local venues. Always a lover of music, he expressed it through playing the guitar, drums and keyboard. As a runner and hiker, he admired and spoke of natures beauty. He provided care for family members.

In the past few years he began studying the Bible, saying he wished people would read the Scriptures. Listening to an audio bible in the hospital brought him comfort. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his sisters, Marilyn A. Taylor and Linda E. Grenon and her husband. William; niece. Cynthia Grenon with her children, Kylyn and Tyler. He also leaves behind cousins, lifetime friends, and special friend, Kathryn (Kat) Krueger.

Jim's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to Please do a kind deed in Jims name.
