On April 3, 1945 our beloved James Terry Sr. was born to William Beard Jr. and Alma Jean Terry in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Terry received his education from St. Edward Catholic School in Cleveland, Ohio. He then joined the United States Army in 1964 and served three tours in Vietnam. He met his lovely wife Geraldine Terry at Fort Benning, Georgia and they married April 3, 1967. After serving 7.5 years in the United States Army, he received his Honorable Discharge. Mr. Terry and Geraldine moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He started employment with Harry Rock then transitioned his employment to Cleveland Transit System (CTS) which became the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in 1975. He retired after 28 years of dedicated service.
He was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and nephew. He was well respected and a father figure to many in the family and those in the community.
He was preceded in glory by Alma Jean Terry (his mother), William Beard Jr. (his father), Lola Elaine Garrett (sister), Martin (Ponnie) Terry (brother), James Terry Jr. (son), Bonita Terry (daughter).
Mr. Terry leaves to treasure sweet memories to his devoted wife Geraldine Terry, children Kurtis, Gwendolyn, Juanita, Tina, Lesleigh, Sabrina, Veronica, Terry, Monica, James III.; 21 Grandchildren, 39 Great-Grandchildren; brother Christopher, aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

My sincere prayers are with you guys at this time
Mr. Terry was one of the only dads in our neighborhood who we had as an example of what a real dad was what a real man was taking care of his family and chasing and caring for his daughters...rest in peace Mr. Terry and thank you for being one of our only examples of what it meant for a man to protect his family and to take care of his family. God bless you guys. Love you, Gwen.
