James Thomas Fuller “Red Man”, age 79, husband of Katherine Elaine Smith Fuller, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 19, 1945, in Maury County, Tennessee, James was the son of the late Harvey Austin Fuller, Jr. and the late Pansy Tennessee Cruz Fuller. On May 15, 1983, he married his devoted wife, Katherine Elaine Smith Fuller, with whom he shared many cherished years.
James dedicated many years of his career to truck driving, working for General Trucking, Fox Trucking, McCanless Trucking, Smith Trucking, Glass Trucking, Scott Trucking, and Columbia Rock before retiring in 1994. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and working on lawnmowers and weed eaters. He also enjoyed watching WWE, playing the guitar, and most of all, taking his grandchildren to school. He was a member of Williamsport Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, David (Michelle) Fuller of Columbia, Terry (Jackie) Fuller of Mt. Pleasant, Morris Fordson of Columbia, daughters, Elainia (Alex) Gutierrez of Columbia, Crystal (Donald) Davidson of Columbia, brothers, Ronnie Fuller of Mt. Pleasant, Paul (Vickie) Fuller of Columbia, sister in law, Willie B Fuller, twenty-two grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Randy Fuller, Michael Fuller, Danny Ray Fuller, brothers, Ricky Fuller, Donnie Fuller, granddaughter, Lisa Marie Fuller, and grandson, Charles Luke Fuller.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Paul Allen Fuller, James Ray Fuller, Roy Fuller, Miguel Vazquez, Edgar Rodriguez, Tim Hollis, Bobo Scott, and Saul Blancas. Honorary pallbearers will include the truck drivers from Glass Trucking, McCanless Trucking, and Fox Trucking.
