James Aaron Thompson

James Aaron Thompson, 74, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Heritage Center. Born and raised in Morristown, Aaron graduated from Morristown High School in '69. He spent most of his adult life living in Atlanta, GA, working and retiring after 30 years of service with South Central Bell. After retirement, he ventured into buying and rehabbing houses, and later in life, he became dedicated to animal rescue. Aaron is preceded in passing by his mother, Ernestine Thompson Wilson; and a very special mother, Mrs. Essie Bristol, who raised and guided him through his formative years. Aaron is survived by his son, Steve (Shannon) Treece of Smyrna, TN; sisters Eugenia Carter of Jefferson City, TN, and Jamesena Wilson of Morristown, TN; brothers Robert Wilson and William W. Thompson of Morristown, TN. He also leaves behind lifelong sisters, Mary Ruth Rucker of Jefferson City, TN, and Brenda Blevins of Memphis, TN. Grandchildren Mason and Jordan Treece of Smyrna, TN. A memorial service for James Aaron Thompson will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home.
