James C. Thompson, devoted husband, and beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away December 15, 2025.
Jim was born November 15, 1932, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Rudy and Jo Thompson. He married his high school sweetheart Mary on June 8, 1952, and together they had 4 children: Bobby, Donna, Terri, and Coleyn.
Jim’s outgoing personality and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him. He was an avid golfer, and made many memories on the golf course, especially with his treasured friend, Paul Lees.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services to honor Jim’s life will be held Friday December 19, 2025, at King of Kings Lutheran Church located at 1701 NE. 96th St., Kansas City, Missouri, 64155. With a visitation at 10:00 AM, and Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment following at Terrace Park Cemetery located at 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64155.
In lieu of Flowers the family request that donations be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church, in Jim’s memory.
