James Allen Torzewski, 83, of North Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1941, in Wausau, the son of Leo and Rose (Bychinski) Torzewski. James proudly served in the United States Army, as Armor Crewman (Tank Driver), from 1958-1964, including overseas in Germany and Korea. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #57, American Legion Post #75, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #270. James worked at Fred Rueping Leather Company, the School District of North Fond du Lac, and Alliance Laundry Systems. He was a hard worker, responsible citizen, and dedicated volunteer. James enjoyed coin collecting, model trains, woodworking, the outdoors, birdwatching, travel (especially by train), and the Packers. He was devoted to his family, including his kitties, and took pride in his home and community.

James is survived by his son, Stuart Torzewski of Chicago; daughter-in-law, Jodi; and grandson, Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Rose; siblings, Florence, Rosemary, and Leo, Jr.; and his wife, Sylvia.

The family wishes to thank friends from the Elks Lodge for many happy memories, and caregivers (especially his Department of Veterans Affairs caseworker at the John H. Bradley Outpatient Clinic in Appleton) and neighbors who provided James with friendship and invaluable support during his later years.

Private family burial will occur at Calvary Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
