Anne McLean Dorr, age 75, of Bristol, NH, and Concord, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved and devoted wife to Glenn B. Dorr, Jr. Born in Ayer, MA, on July 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph A. and Caroline Hopkins McLean. Anne's father spent his career as the town doctor and school doctor for Groton School. Anne graduated from Concord Academy, Concord, MA, in 1957, where she made many of her lifelong friends. Anne was fondly called "Mac" by her friends and was Freshman and Sophomore Class President, as well as Captain of the Blues her Senior year. While at Concord, Anne played Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball and was a member of the school choir. Anne went on to graduate from Briarcliff College, Briarcliff, NY, in 1959, and attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Anne and Glenn met in Boston and married in 1964 in Ayer, MA. They settled in Wellesley, MA, until 1968, when they moved to Milwaukee, WI, where Glenn worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company (NML). While in Milwaukee, Anne embraced many new friends through the NML network, where they made lasting friendships during the first years with young children and traveling together with families on annual trips. They moved to Simsbury, CT, in 1971 , where Anne was active with Neighbor to Neighbor , became a Real Estate Agent with her sister-in-law, Ursula McLean, delivered Meals on Wheels, and visited and provided comfort and support to the local infirm and elderly. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother of four, who took great pride in her family. She was a gracious host and always enjoyed family parties, holidays and gatherings. In her later years, she cherished her time with Glenn at their lakeside home in Bristol, NH, where family members have gathered for over 100 years and winter stays in Concord, MA, to be closer to their family. Anne was a natural athlete who loved running, skiing, and tennis. An avid Red Sox fan, she loved going to Fenway Park to watch games with Glenn and her family. She also loved to write poetry, study the local birds, read, and fish at the lake and around the world. She traveled to numerous countries with her husband to fish, explore, hike and see the sights. While living in Bristol, NH, Anne and Glenn spent time together taking art classes and attending their local church, The New Hampton Community Church. Along with her husband, Glenn, she is survived by her four loving children and thirteen cherished grandchildren: Glenn B. Dorr, III and wife Eleanor W. of Manchester by-the-Sea, MA, and their children Lowell Dorr, Cornelia Dorr, Corinna Dorr; Marshall M. Dorr and wife Elizabeth K. of Concord, MA, and their children Maggie Dorr, Mason Dorr, Keanen Dorr, Cecily Dorr; Douglas M. Dorr and wife Kristen K. of Pittsburgh, PA, and their children Anna Dorr, McLean Dorr, Eva Dorr; and her only daughter, Caroline Dorr Reinke and husband Christopher M. of Columbus, OH, and their children Annie Reinke, Charlotte Reinke, and Marshall Reinke. She is also survived by her brothers J. Alan McLean of CT and Dr. John Marshall McLean of IL. Her brother Dr. Robert Hopkins McLean of MD predeceased her. All of her nieces and nephews survive her and remember her fun, lively and loving spirit which she fully shared with everyone around her. Glenn,
You and Anne have been on my mind lately. I just left a message on your phone. Then I see the obituary. So sad. Too many memories on my end of Anne, you and the family. All good. All loving. You, Anne and the family are models of what is right and loving and good in the world. You touched so many in so many ways. I and my family have been the beneficiaries of you and Anne. We love you and will always love her

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful Mother, Wife, Grandmother and friend. When I picture Ann, I think of the eyes that smiled when she greeted anyone of us. I only wish I had been able to spend some time with Ann and family. I will pray for all of you. Judi Lynch and family.
