James Earl "Rusty" Vann, 84, passed away November 16, 2024 in Suffolk, Virginia. He was the son of the late Walter and Ollie Bundy Vann.
Rusty was an electrician and retired from Suffolk Sheet Metal. He enjoyed working in his garden and tending to his plants.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Walter Vann Jr.; Jeanette Price, Nellie Byrum, Bobby Vann, Joe Payne Vann, and Roger Lee Vann.
Rusty is survived by his wife of 63 years, Iris; his 3 children, Kathy Goodrich (Fletcher) of Suffolk, Barbara Sexton (Barry) of Suffolk, and Deborah Kloos of Urbandale, Iowa; his sister, Betty Davis of Belvidere, NC; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren including twins that are due to arrive November 21, 2024.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens (4569 Shoulders Hill Rd, Suffolk, VA 23435) beginning at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rusty's name to the American Heart Association.

we would pick collards and he would always make sure i went home with 2 big bags of them with pecans. he loved his garden. we will forever miss you rusty.
