James Michael Venzor, 46, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2025, after a brief stay in the hospital. He was born on May 14, 1979, in Colorado City, Texas, to Patricia Guerrero and John Manuel Venzor.
As a young boy, after coming home from elementary school one day, he told his mom he wanted to start going by his middle name - Michael - because he thought "Michael" sounded more grown up. From that day on, that's what everyone called him. Unless he was in trouble then it was "James Michael" and you would see him running!
Michael grew up in Roscoe and Sweetwater, Texas, alongside his three siblings, and later moved to Kerrville his senior year of high school. He graduated from Tivy High School in 1998 and made Kerrville his home ever since.
Throughout his life, James worked a variety of jobs, but his greatest passion was always found in the kitchen. He loved to cook and was known for sharing meals made with care and heart. When he wasn't cooking, you could often find him fishing - his favorite way to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Michael will be remembered for his generous spirit and the way he was always ready to lend a helping hand - whether you asked for it or not. He loved his family deeply and especially cherished his role as "Uncle Michael," always making time for his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Guerrero; his two children; brother, Frank Venzor; sisters, Rosemary Venzor and Gretchen Venzor; step-sisters, Michelly, Ana, and Camyla Silva; grandmother, Connie Venzor; and numerous nieces and nephews and Aunts and Uncles
Michael was preceded in death by his father, John Venzor; grandparents, Virginia and Francisco Guerrero, and Joe Venzor; and cousin, Jim Venzor.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
