James Verbryke Obituary
Jim was a graduate of Cridersville High School and the University of Northwestern Ohio, and was a member of the Cridersville Alumni Association. He was formerly a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cridersville. Jim was a life member of the Buckeye Sheriff's Association and the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of AMVETS Post #333, V.F.W. Post #8445, American Legion Post #330, the Auxiliary Sheriff's Department, and the Eagles Lodge #691, where he served as past president on several occasions, all of Wapakoneta. In his free time, Jim was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He is survived by a son – Brent A. (Jill) Verbryke of St. Marys; 4 grandchildren – Kailyn, Carter, Rowan, and Emery, a brother – Richard 'Dick' (Bernie) Verbryke of Wapakoneta and multiple other family members.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A time of sharing followed by a prayer will begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Mercy Health Hospice.

To the family of Jim Verbryke, I am very sorry for your loss.
I grew up in Cridersville, my brother, David, was the same age as Jim and they were long-time friends.
David passed March 22, 2023. Before his passing Jim would visit him often.
May happy memories of Jim help get you through this time of grieving.
