James B. Vest

James B. Vest passed
away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born April
13, 1949, on the family farm, on Boothe Creek Road in Copper Hill, to Morris A.
and Ida Cannaday Vest who preceded him in death along with his granddaughter,
Constance A. Vest; grandson, Billy Neighbors; brothers, Kyle Vest, Ralph Vest,
David Vest; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Janney (Thurman) and Ruth
Ingram (Elvin).
He is survived by
his loving wife, Katie Spence Vest; son, James B. "Jimmy" Vest;
great-grandsons, Douglas James Vest and Aiden Hajek; brothers and
sister-in-law, Paul Vest and Charles Vest (Loretta); sister and brother-in-law,
Marie Thomas (Bill); along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arthur
Spence, III (Marie) and Jimmy Spence (Janie); and numerous nieces, nephews,
friends and extended family.
The family would
like to express their thanks and gratitude to friends and family for all the
help during his illness.
Funeral services
will be held at Noon on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Daniel Whitlock, Pastor Jerry Hylton and Pastor Darren Landon officiating.
Interment will follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 11 a.m. until Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
