James Richard Vick was born December 16th 1945, to parents Willard and Marie (Pfeiffle) in Trenton MI.
He was raised with his older sister Carol Ann, and his older brother Paul, and surrounded by loving family members his entire life. He often told stories about Christmas, thanksgiving, and family get togethers with warmth and fondness. He married the love of his life, Ann (Dolan) on September 9th, 1972, welcoming their first son James W in April of 1976, and their youngest son Joeseph P in September 1978. They raised their family on Horse Island in Gibraltar MI, before moving to Monroe MI.
James was a banker for most of his life, his stories of his tellers and customers making them feel like they were part of the family. He was loved by almost all that knew him, known for his dry sense of humor and his straight to the point way of speaking. He was a staple in the lives of his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and all the greats that came along. Whether it was watching birds, going to Cedar Point, or playing a very serious game of Euchre, James brought light to those in his life. He taught so many of his younger family members how to play Euchre, and near the end of his days, he spent his time teaching his great granddaughters their ABC's, numbers, and drawing anything they could imagine.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marie, Father Willard, brother Paul, and wife Ann. He spent his last days at home, surrounded by those who loved him, and passed peacefully in his sleep on October 23rd 2024. His memory is carried on by his sister Carol Ann, his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Kimberlee, James, and Ricky, his sons James and Joseph, his grandchildren Hannah and Connor, and his four great grandchildren.
