Jim was always such an encourager to Shep when he needed it. What a life well lived and loved well! We are so heartbroken for the boys. Y´all have been and will continue to be in our prayers.

Jim was a witty, smart and kind person. He was a reliable friend and trusted counselor. I think I met Jim when he joined us at our monthly CLS Austin luncheons decades ago. It was a good thing he had a law degree because we might not have allowed him in our meeting if he were just a mortgage broker. As owners of Counselors Mortgage, he and Andrea were so very helpful to Julie and me when we refinanced our homes (more than once) and I am grateful to them both that I am paying only 3.75% from our last refinance.
On my way home from a mediation today, I looked forward to reading that text from Jim that I had received a couple of hours earlier and was shocked when I saw that the text was actually from Lance, using his father´s phone, about Jim´s death. The tears were affecting my driving, so I had to pull over, especially as I thought about how this must be affecting Andrea, Lance and Luke. That moment of tears and prayer for Jim´s family was a precious moment because it started me thinking about friendships that I have neglected, especially with the stark realization that a long life is not guaranteed. I know Jim would not want us to wallow in sorrow, but to rejoice that he is experiencing the glorious presence of our Lord. Jim, this world is going to miss you, Dear Friend.
