Funeral services will be held for James Farrell Watson on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Kilpatrick Rose Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia Louisiana at 1:00 pm. Tommy Davidson will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm prior to the service.
James Farrell Watson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 2, 2023, and will be missed by all that knew him.
Farrell was born May 10, 1933, in Claiborne Parish to Earl and Elvye Watson. He grew up in and around Hurricane Louisiana and graduated from Athens High School in 1951. After serving our country in the Army, he completed his college degree at Louisiana Tech. He began his career in Shreveport Louisiana with Delta Airlines in 1958. Then transferring to DFW and eventually to Las Vegas Nevada where he retired in 1989. He married the love of his life Relda Dozier in 1964, and together they raised two sons. Farrell and Relda enjoyed dancing, bowling and enjoying life together. Farrell was also on several softball teams when he was younger and was an avid baseball fan. He was very excited about the Texas Rangers recent World Series win.
Farrell was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elvye Watson, wife Relda Watson, and by brothers, Doyle, Ruey and Dale Watson.
He is survived by son, Dennis Watson, Sherry Carter, grandson, Stephen Watson, wife, Trish Watson and three great grandchildren, Krue, Christopher, and Shay Watson.
