James Weaver Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 5, 2025.
James Weaver, 68, of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 10:45am on October 4, 2025, at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Bayonne, New Jersey.
James was born on February 28, 1957, and raised on Washington Parkway where he established lifelong friendships and was known for his charm, generosity, and love for his family.
He graduated from Bayonne High School and began working as an electrical apprentice, where his hard work led to the establishment of Weaver Electric. Here he worked for over 40 years and prided himself for the meticulous service he provided to the community in his signature Weaver red van. Beyond his career, he was an avid fisherman, Harley riding, classic rock enthusiast who found great joy in watching the NY Giants win and lose while enjoying an ice-cold Coors Light. He never missed a chance to celebrate moments both big and small with those he loved. He instilled the importance of paying attention to the little things in life like picking the right appetizer and always making sure there was room for dessert. Some of his greatest memories were made on vacations with his family down the Jersey shore along with quality time at Weaver Wonderland in Florida.
James Weaver was preceded in death by his late wife Lori Jean Weaver (Jablonski), parents Mary & John Weaver, father-in-law Bernard Jablonski, and brothers John & Mickey Weaver.
James Weaver is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Barbara Weaver (Zaleck); his children, Meredith & Brian Hilinsky, Alyssa & Patrick O'Keefe, Andrea & Patrick Mackessy, James & Kara Weaver, Shanna & Anthony Smith, Danielle & Jonathan Weeks; his sister Christine Weaver; mother-in-law Barbara Jablonski; and all of his many beloved grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bayonne Friends of Special Children at 61 Humphrey Ave, Bayonne, NJ 07002 in James Weaver's memory, where he volunteered and supported throughout his years.
The family of James wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hope Hospice for the comfort and dignity provided by the hospice team in his final days.
