Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hays Funeral Home - Northborough on Dec. 30, 2025.
James Weaver, age 69, of
New Durham, NH passed away on December 26, 2025 at Lahey Hospital after years of fighting one illness after another. He never let his illness hold domain over him and he fought like no other to keep his life as normal and happy as possible. He was born in
Brighton, MA in 1956 and spent most of his childhood living in
Maynard, MA. He served as a U.S. Marine.
Jim will be remembered for his unyielding love for his family, his absolute love of the outdoors, his need to help anyone and everyone he met, and his ridiculous sense of humor. His family was the most important part of his life and he always gave the kids and grandkids a hard time for not visiting more often. Jim adored his wife Sue and spent their many years together doing all he could to make her happy. He was a man who would give you the shirt off his back, often literally, so you wouldn't be cold. He always offered to help in any way he could, even if it hindered himself for a time.
Jim was an outdoor man, through and through. He could usually be found outside sitting in a deer stand waiting for that perfect deer to walk by, or on the edge of a brook with his line in the water waiting for that first bite from a fish. He often showed experienced fishing buddies a new trick or helped a kid, who was just learning to fish, how to cast the pole just right. He was an avid hunter with the utmost respect for the animals he hunted. If the shot couldn't be a clean one, he would rather take a picture instead. He took great pride in providing food for his family and friends through his hunting and fishing.
When Jim worked in the construction field, he was a jack-of-all-trades. If it involved working with his hands, he made sure to learn all that he could. He ran a painting company for many years, passing along his knowledge to his son, who later created his own company. Jim was very proud of the quality of his son's workmanship.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Jean Weaver. He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Michael Weaver and partner Renee Hadley, his three grandchildren Jace Weaver, Lily Weaver, and Baine Hadley. He is also survived by his siblings Donald Weaver, Jr, Debby DeYoung, Dale Weaver, and Diane Lockhart, and his in-laws James and Betty Lindberg, Theresa Lindberg-Riga and family, and Debra Thoresen and family.
Jim will be sorely missed by all those who were a part of his life.
Services and burial will be private, for Jim's family. Arrangements have been under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street,
