James Houston Webster, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left us on the 20th of July, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on February 19, 1952, to John and Minnie Webster, James's journey began in the same city where he would later say his goodbyes. His life was a testament to his intelligence, loving nature, and kindness, attributes that defined him in the hearts of all who knew him.
James, affectionately known as Jamie by his family and friends, was a man who embraced life with a feisty demeanor and an unwavering spirit. He was the beloved husband of Pattie Webster, with whom he shared thirty years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. James's legacy lives on through his family Kasey Carle Crick and husband, Thomas and Michael Lance Carle and wife, Carla and his adored granddaughters, Madison Crick, Reagan Crick, Emma Carle, and Peyton Carle, who were the light of his life.
A family man at heart, James found his greatest joy in the time spent with his granddaughters. Each moment with them was precious, and he imparted wisdom, humor, and an abundance of love that they will carry with them always. James was predeceased by his parents, John and Minnie Webster, and his brothers, William Webster III and Richard Webster. His memory will be kept alive by the stories and laughter shared among those who loved him.
James's passions were many, but he had a particular love for computers and technology. Always one to keep his hands busy, he could often be found tinkering with the latest gadgets or solving complex problems with ease. His love for the long-running show "Dr. Who" was well-known among friends and family, a testament to his enduring curiosity and imagination.
Not only did James have a mind for technology, but he also had a talent for cooking, especially his famous spaghetti, which became a much-anticipated treat at family gatherings. He enjoyed a good scotch and the company of good friends, with whom he shared many a lively conversation and hearty laugh.
Among his quieter companions were his beloved dogs, Harley and Odin, who were constant sources of joy and comfort throughout his life. James's kind heart extended to all living creatures, and his pets were no exception.
As we bid farewell to James, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. He was a beacon of love and kindness, whose memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he has departed from this world, the impact of his intelligence and loving nature will resonate for generations to come.
James Houston Webster's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the love of his family, the joy of his interests, and the warmth of his friendships. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and strength to those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a private residence.
