Memorial Service for James M. Wenzel, age 68, of Kilkenny, MN and formerly of
Fairmont, MN will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Lakeview Funeral Home. James passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his home in Kilkenny. The Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
James Michael was born April 18, 1956, to Wayne and Kathleen (Higginbotham) in Le Mars, Iowa. Growing up James attended school in Fairmont, where he played on the football team and wrestled and ran track. He was a member of the 1975 graduating class from Fairmont High School.
Following his high school graduation James worked as the manager at Pesters Gas Station in Fairmont. He later worked for Schwan's and then began trucking which he did until his retirement.
James was united in marriage to Karen Anderson and this union was blessed with two children, Mike and Carrie. He later married Jodie Jensen and this union was blessed with two children, Cole and Jacquelyn. On September 9, 2007, James was united in marriage to Laurie Wallace at their home in Kilkenny.
In his spare time, James enjoyed going fishing, especially with his family. He could often be found riding his Harley Davidson. James took many motorcycle trips, some of his favorites were out to Sturgis. He was also a member of the motorcycle club and other biker groups. James took great pride in his family and enjoyed time spent with them, making lasting memories.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Laurie Wallace; children: Mike (Megan) Wenzel, Carrie Wenzel, Cole Wenzel, and Jacquelyn Wenzel; grandchildren: Aerial (Trey) Lapke, Ty (Abi) Swenson, Trey (Laura) Swenson, Logan Wenzel, Dakota (Kelsi) Walker, Connor Walker, Mackenzie Walker, Brooklynn Wenzel, Aiden Quezada, Chloe Quezada, Brock Quezada, and Danika Quezada; great-grandchildren: Wyatt Kalum, Theo, and Nash; stepchildren: Kessa (Shawn) Northway, Luke Wallace, and Kieran Wallace; other extended family and many friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Kathleen Wenzel; sister, Barb Mosloski; brother, Kenny Wenzel; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
