James Walter Weyaus, 37, of Onigum, began his journey to the spirit world Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.
He was born to Corinne White and Walter Weyaus Sr. in Cass Lake, on Oct. 23, 1988.
James was a loyal friend that would help in any way he could, his heart was big and he loved unconditionally. He was always laughing, joking around and having fun. He always told funny stories about himself and just said silly and goofy things. There was never a dull moment with James. He loved taking pictures, rap music, was TikTok famous and favored by the ladies. James was a fierce boxer that took him to many places and was also a very good hunter with a great shot, getting his first deer at the age of 10. He was a good listener, big on loyalty and a man of great respect. He was a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan and always said he lived his best life when he lived in Florida. James loved his kids and his entire family.
Family that welcomes James to the spirit world are his parents, Corinne and Walter Sr., his other mom, Laurel Jackson; sisters, Julie and Marlene Weyaus and Theresa Jackson; brothers, Andrew Goose and David "DJ" Jackson Sr.; step-grandpa, Johnny Smith; auntie, Jolene Goose; and many more family members.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his dad, Faron Jackson Sr.; sisters, Jaime Weyaus, Maria and Maggie Jackson; brothers, Walter Jr. and Julian Weyaus, Faron Jr. and Walter "Wally" Jackson; son, Migizii Weyaus; daughter, Jazlynn Fairbanks; auntie, Andrea Lyons; uncle, Tim Goose; grandma, Marlene (White) Smith; special cousins, Shaunice Headbird and Kevin Jackson, many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
An overnight wake for James will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 and continue until his 11 a.m. traditional service Nov. 23, all being held at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum. Bradley Harrington Jr. will be his spiritual advisor.
Helping to lay James to rest are Julian Weyaus, Ricky Jackson Sr., David Jackson, Jr., Isaiah Agard, Beau Agard Jr., Niko Morrow Jackson, Eli Goose, Tyson Jackson, Joseph Jackson and Tony Bushey. His honorary pallbearers are Walter "Wally" Jackson, Steve Kent, Tim Goose, Rodney Headbird, Jr., Joshua Jackson, Faron Jackson Jr., and all of the Weyaus, White, Smith and Jackson families.
Interment will be in Old Agency Catholic Cemetery at Old Agency, MN immediately following his services.
