James White Obituary

James Greenway White passed away on February 6, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Jim was born June 10, 1944, in Logan, West Virginia, to Greenway Hatfield White and Mary Belle Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Beth Ferrell.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Nancye White; his children, James G. White (Christie) and Mary Christine Gallagher (John); and his grandsons, Brendan, Hunter, and Joseph. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Ellen Sennett and Rose Marie Frantz, and his brother, Seth White.

Jim proudly served his country and was a lifelong patriot. A man of strong Christian faith, he lived by the values of family, service, and gratitude.

He retired from Appalachian Power Company (AEP) after 30 years of dedicated service.

Jim was an avid motorcyclist, and he and Nancye enjoyed traveling the country on their Harley-Davidsons with many close friends, creating lasting memories and lifelong friendships.

Those who knew Jim knew his steady presence, generous spirit, and deep love for his family. To know Jim was to love him, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A family memorial service will be held this summer.
