John N Beckley

John N. Beckley III 87, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2026, unexpectedly.

John N. Beckley III was born in Rochester, New York on October 21st, 1938. To the late John N. Beckley Sr. and Bertha Turton, he is also preceded in passing by his grandson Myles Beckley.

John is survived by his wife Janet of 47 years and his three children, Dawn Ellen Janow, Jay Walter Beckley and Carol Yvonne Beckley and six grandchildren, Theresa Pearl Beckley, August Jupiter Janow, Cordelia Sage Janow, Casey Renee Beckley. Also, his little Jack Russell Terrier, Amora, his devoted dog.

John is a graduate of Byrant University, College of Business, Smithfield, Rhode Island.

He continued on his master's in business law at the University of Bridgeport.

His career took him in a few directions. First with Pitney Bowes in Connecticut, then onto being a Vice President in Forschner Knives Manufacturing where he was instrumental in bringing the Brand to the United States. He later moved into the custom home building of custom stairs with Quality Stairs.

He lived in Byram, Ct. On Long Island Sound, where he did much boating and sailing. It was his playground. He also loved working on cars, classical music, Opera and politics. He was a member of The National Guard of Connecticut.

Some of the things he fondly remembered were his mother's victory garden during WWII, his fishing trips with his dad and reading to his children when they were younger.

Services will be held on Thursday March 19, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church 542 Cypress Ave Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in John's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ or Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots https://secure.toysfortots.org/.
