James Williams, beloved husband, father, brother, and veteran passed away on September 26, 2025. He was born May 4, 1932 in Mullins, South Carolina, to the late Ed and Ana Williams.
At an early age James enlisted in the United States Army where he served proudly for 30 years and 18 days. He was among the courageous men who helped integrate the Army and retired as a Master Sergeant. Following his distinguished military service, he continued through civil service in the Housing Department for 31 years completing 61 years of government service.
James married Petronella (deceased) and from that union he was blessed with his daughter the late Nancy Davis. In later years he married Millie Williams his devoted wife of 42 years.
He will be remembered for his love of church, bowling earning multiple 300 rings, his passion for the Philadelphia Eagles, his fondness for dogs, especially Jack, and his flair for cars and style earning the nickname “Green Machine”.
James is survived by his wife Millie, stepdaughter Tanya Abdur-Rahman, sisters Mary Williams and Hattie Smith, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, many cousins and cherished friends: Annette Corsaw & family, Rufino & Terry Escobar, Carmon & Verna Holley, Veronica Quinonez & family, Ronald Sr. & Mariam, Ronald S. & Benita Robinson, The Gospel Service @ Fort Bliss Hope Chapel, Enhabit HH/HOS, Santa Fe.
His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
