James Willis Powell Obituary

Archie was a machinist for Westinghouse / American Phillips for 35 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairmont. Archie enjoyed hunting, riding his four-wheeler side by side, and spending time with family. He also took care of his wife through her illness, which he truly cherished. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was the Grand Knight from 2013 to 2016.
Left to cherish his memory is one daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) Hayhurst; and two grandchildren, Alisha Hayhurst and Justin Hayhurst.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susan Lynn Engleka; his sister, Juannita Price; and two sons, James Archie Willis Powell III and James Richard Powell. Friends and Family may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, West Virginia, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. An interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
