James E. Wilson, 78, of Huntingdon, passed away on February 3, 2026 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Belleville on July 25, 1947, a son of the late James and Sara (Knepp) Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Tammie Henney, wife, Shirley Wilson and, brother Alen Wilson.

He attended Huntingdon Area High School.

Jim was the founder/owner of FRP Fabricators, a fabricator of fiberglass reinforced plastic air and water pollution control systems which can be found all over the world. He was also a well-known musician and steel guitar player, and played with several local bands including the Cameos, George Reihart, the Country Inspirations and most recently with the Make Mine Country Band.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Nestler Wilson; son, Keith Wilson (Trena); brother, Barry Wilson (Wendy); grandchildren, Alecia Robbins (Devon), Brionna Wilson (Matt) and Dustin Wilson; step-children, Shyanne Walker (Eli) and Tyrell Nestler (Amber); step-grandchildren, Martina and Callie Grunden, Tanner, Treyton and Taylee Nestler; great-grandchildren, Madison Wilson, Penelope Robbins and Kayden Wilson; his four-legged kids, Shayne and Murphee; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Huntingdon Elks Lodge, the Huntingdon Historical Society, the Nashville Steel Guitar Association and the Wheeling Jamboree. He was a longtime Pittsburgh Steelers fan and looked forward to football season every year. He also spent many years at the Hesston Speedway supporting the #50 car of Bill Henney.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington Street, Huntingdon. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652 or to the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Co., 10 Firehouse Ln, Huntingdon, PA, 16652.
