James “Jim” L. Wilson age 77 of West Fargo, ND past away peacefully on March 4, 2026 at HIA Heather’s House in Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving family.
James Lee Wilson was born February 24, 1949 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Melvin and Margaret (Quinlan) Wilson. He lived and attended school in Detroit Lakes until moving to Moorhead, MN at the age of twelve. He finished his education there, graduating from Moorhead High School. He then attended the Detroit Lakes Vo Tech where he studied Small Engine Repair. In 1968 he was united in marriage to Pamela Holtgrewe. He later served an HVAC apprenticeship and worked for Miller Sheet Metal and Northern Heating in Fargo. In 1980 he started Comfort Masters Mechanical Inc., which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2003.
His retirement allowed him to spent his time pursuing his other interests, including hunting, fishing, trapping, woodworking and hobby farming. All of which he did with great knowledge and skill. He enjoyed sharing these passions with his family and took the time to share his knowledge, skills and life experiences with those closest to him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of fifty eight years, Pam; one son, Scott Wilson, of Rothsay, MN; three daughters, Kari (Seth) Jastram, of West Fargo, ND; Nicole (Don) Strandberg, of Audubon, MN; and Brandi Wilson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren, McKenzie, Rileigh, Kahne, Derek (Abi), Dylan, Ashley (Jayson), Logan, and Abbilyn; one great grandson, Maverick; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Ben Holtgrewe; two sisters, Cheryl Gunderson and Lorraine Seaberg; and one brother, Melvin Wilson.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday March 11, 2026; 2:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes.
