James Winders Obituary
James Harry "Jim" Winders, 69, of Mebane, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born on October 29, 1956, in Rocky Mount, NC, to the late Harry Oliver and Frances James Winders.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Winders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Martha Ray Winders; his sons, Joel Winders and wife Meredith of Ridgeway, VA, Rob Winders and wife Crystal of Apex, and Michael Winders and wife Marion of Durham; grandchildren, Levi Winders, Andrew Winders, Katelyn Kirby, Jacob Winders, and Mason Winders; great-grandchildren, Beckham Kirby and Brynn Kirby; and his brother, Ricky Winders and wife Deidra; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
As his children grew up, Jim spent many years coaching Little League baseball and basketball at the Bethesda Athletic Association. He was a simple man who loved the Lord with all his heart. Despite facing significant health challenges, Jim never complained and continued to work and provide for his family-even from his hospital bed. Quiet by nature, he wasn't one to seek attention, but his steady presence and deep devotion to his family and faith spoke volumes.
Jim loved his family deeply and took great pride in every one of them. He was a loyal fan of the UNC Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers, cheering them on through every season. To know him was to love him.
His legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will continue to live on through the lives of those who knew and loved him. "Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
