James William Winslette

James "Jimmy" Winslette, of Eatonton, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 74.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. A funeral service will take place at the chapel on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 am., with burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on November 22, 1950, in Milledgeville, Georgia, to the late Lauren and Dorothy Winslette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Winslette, and his sister, Rosalind Mixon.

A graduate of Putnam County High School, Jimmy proudly served for many years in the Army National Guard. He was a talented athlete, playing both baseball and football, and later coached for the Putnam County Recreation Department. Over the years, Jimmy worked at Horton Homes, served as a herdsman, and retired from Walmart. He was known for his passion and devotion of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family: stepdaughter Angela Reynolds; stepson Grady Carnes (Amy); daughters Tricia, Renee, and Dayna Winslette; brothers Ronnie (Joyce) Winslette and Larry (Jo) Winslette; grandchildren Kensley Carnes and Jaden Carnes; great-grandson Keaston Carnes; step-grandchildren Ethan Whatley and Lola Whatley; and many nieces and nephews, including Jody, Shannon (Roger), Laura, Lisa, and Tracy.
