James Francis Wright III, 39, of Indio, passed away on April 21, 2023.
Born on September 21, 1983, to Patricia Ann Diaz and James Francis Wright Jr, James was a graduate of Indio High School and a lifetime Coachella Valley resident.
James (Jimbo) will be remembered for his genuine kindness, generosity, compassion, grace, and sense of humor. James had a quick, sharp wit and an infectious laugh, but he could also incite immense laughter with just one of his trademark facial expressions. His deeply compassionate heart extended to animals, and James was known to bring home strays that he could not leave behind.
James and his son JJ loved being outdoors together hiking, collecting rocks, and telling jokes. James was also a talented, creative visual artist, and he and his niece Stevie enjoyed a special bond through their love of art and drawing together.
James is survived by his mom Patricia Diaz and stepfather Freddie Diaz. son James Francis Wright IV (JJ), brother Stephen Wright, sister Gerralynn McKenna, sister-in-law Mischell Rodriguez, brother-in-law Zack McKenna, nephew Freddie, niece Stevie, niece Kayla, Uncles George, Richard, Eddie, and Michael, Aunts Lorena and Janet, and cousins Kahil, Sarah, Rose, Brandon, and Bella. He was preceded in death by his father James Wright Jr, grandparents George and Lillian Thomas and James F Wright Sr, Aunt Rosalind Thomas, and Uncle Michael Wright.
A fiercely loyal and unconditionally loving brother, father, son, uncle, and friend, James will forever be loved and missed by everyone lucky enough to have known and laughed with him.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert, CA, May 11, 2023, at 10:30. Interment to follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
