James Wright Obituary

James Everett Wright, Jr., 78, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by all of his children and his brother Denny. Born May 20, 1947, in Camden, NJ., he was the son of the late James Everett Wright, Sr., and Rita Dolores Genovese Wright. He was the cherished husband of the late Barbara Ann Wright, whom he married on October 19, 1974. James earned his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and dedicated his life to serving his country and protecting its citizens through a distinguished career of 42 years with the FBI. After retiring, James worked over 10 years for the Terrorist Screening Center. An avid gardener, James spent countless sunrises to sunsets cultivating his gardens. He enjoyed taking trips with his family, especially to Ocean City, NJ. James was a talented craftsman, who could often be found building many things. But above all, he enjoyed his gin martinis, and the time spent with his grandchildren. James was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, a member of the local chapter of Former FBI Agents and the American Legion Post 31 where he enjoyed Taco Tuesdays. He was a fan of the Eagles and proudly "bled green." Surviving James are his children James E. Wright, III., Amy Lynn Gamboa and husband Adrian, and Nicole Rita Wright; grandchildren Kyle, Carter, Ryan, Lincoln, and Gabriel; siblings Rita Doto, Dennis Wright, Joseph Wright and wife Michelle, and Michael Wright and wife Carole; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Wright. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Inglesby and Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken, NJ 08109. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 19, 2025, at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
