Mrs. Jamesette Long Chasteen (Etsy), age 90 of Locust Grove, peacefully passed away Friday evening August 1, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin after an extended illness. Mrs. Chasteen was born Thursday March 7, 1935, to the late Allen & Carrie Teal Long in Molena. She had been employed by Encompass Group in the cutting department for several years before settling into her mission as a mother and grandmother that adored being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law; Allen & Kelly Chasteen of Maggie Valley, NC, daughters and sons-in-law; Aggie & Wayne Combs, Peggy & Andy Garland all of Locust Grove. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Brandon Combs (Jodi), Kristin McCarter (Charlie), Nichole Kimbrel (Josh), Andrew Garland (Whitney), Drew Chasteen Olivia) and Tyler Chasteen (Taylor) along with 8 great-grandchildren; Will Combs, Tyson McCarter, Jaxon McCarter, Amelia Garland, Taylor Kimbrel, Judson Garland, Trey Kimbrel, Charlotte Chasteen and 2 sisters; Nellie Long Norman of Thomaston and Lena Mae Bassett of Woodbury. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Chasteen who passed away in 1999 after 45 years of marriage, along with 1 brother and 2 sisters.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Jamesette Long Chasteen will be held Tuesday August 5, 2025, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Rev. Joel Stewart will officiate. There will be a private Family interment following the Service. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home for 1 hour beginning at 10 AM on the day of the Service or at other times at the residence of Aggie & Wayne Combs, 163 Burg Rd, Locust Grove.
