Jamie Appleton, born on February 1, 1980, in Memphis, TN, passed from this world on January 24, 2025, in Southaven, MS, after a brief illness. His departure has left a profound void in the hearts of those who had the joy of knowing him.
A hard worker by nature, Jamie dedicated himself to a variety of odd jobs throughout his life, displaying a tireless spirit and an unwavering commitment to his family. Known for his giving and caring personality, he had an innate ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone around him. Jamie's humor shone brightest during movie nights, as he loved to engage in conversations about animated movies, sharing his playful spirit with those gathered close. He had a particular knack for forming bonds with the beloved pets in his community, making friends with every cat and dog he encountered, reflecting his intrinsic kindness and gentle nature.
In his role as a father and grandfather, he took immense pride in his children—Caitlin Appleton, Donovan Cole Appleton, and Chloe Appleton—as well as in his grandchildren: Bryson Appleton, Kashtyn Appleton, Emberlynn Appleton, and Rowan Appleton.
Jamie’s faith was an integral part of his life. He loved the Lord and found solace in his relationship with Jesus, which flourished and deepened throughout his life. This spiritual foundation guided him in his daily actions and interactions with others, as he exemplified love and compassion.
He is survived by his children, daughter-in-law Christina Appleton, and grandchildren, siblings, as well as his grandparents, Shelton and Ida Appleton, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
Jamie joins his beloved parents, Danny Appleton and Peggy Roberts, and a sibling in eternal rest. His sudden passing at the young age of 44 leaves an ache in the hearts of many, but we take comfort in the laughter and love he shared during his time with us.
A memorial service in honor of Jamie will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on January 31, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
