NEW BUFFALO - Jamie Elizabeth Bartelheim, 51, of New Buffalo, passed away in Plymouth, IN, on Wednesday – March 26, 2025.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Jamie was born on May 4, 1973 in Valparaiso, IN, to William and Connie Leasure.
Jamie was employed as a teacher at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic School and also at the New Buffalo Public School system. She loved teaching; enjoyed baking all kinds of goodies – candies, cookies, cupcakes, wedding cakes; was a very stylish lady; and was affectionately known as Mimi by her grandsons. She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Jamie is survived by her children – Shelbey (Zak Ratko) Leasure-Bartelheim of Troy, MO, and Zachary (Erika) Bartelheim of New Buffalo, MI; grandchildren – Keller Kares and Weston Bartelheim; her mother and stepfather – Connie (Jerry) Kesler of Plymouth, IN; Jamie's significant other – Jack Jent; sisters – Shelli (Butch) Shreve and Billie Leasure; step-brother – Michael Kalember and step-sister – Amanda Kesler; and father of her children Bryan Bartelheim. She is preceded in death by her father – William Leasure.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Sunday – March 30, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Visitation with the family preceded the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.sommerfeld chapel.com.
