Jamie Lee Adkins Buffkin, a cherished radiant soul, tragically passed away on September 27th, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on March 30th, 1996, at Macdill Airforce base in Tampa, Florida, Jamie brought joy and smiles to all from the moment of her birth and will be deeply missed.
Jamie's life was defined by her love for animals and artistic talent. She dedicated her career to the care and grooming of pets, and always going the extra mile for all animals and their families. This love also extended to her pets and homestead, she cared deeply for her furry friends as well as the scaly and feathered ones too.
Beyond her professional life, Jamie was a music lover, from the most beautiful classical pieces, to the heaviest of metal, she loved it all. She was also proficient in both the guitar and violin. Her artistic abilities also included various mediums, such as painting and sculpting. Many of her paintings and sculpted knickknacks still decorate the homes of her family and friends today.
Family was the foundation of Jamie's life. She was a loving wife to her husband, Clay Buffkin, with whom she had an unbreakable bond built on fun and laughter. Her father, Andrew Adkins, and his wife, Rodelyn, remember Jamie as the light of their lives. Her beloved grandmother, Joyce "Nang Nang" Adkins, and grandfather, Dr. Jimmie Adkins, preceded her in death.
Jamie held a special place in her heart for her aunt-sissy, Stephanie Whittle, and her husband, Duane, as well as her godmother, Danée Maynard, who each played an important role in her upbringing and personal development. Her time with Daniel Trautwein and Dana Maynard, whom she considered her brothers and shared childhood memories with, was a bond that she loved deeply.
A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel in
