Jamie Lee McSweyn, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 64 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born in Saginaw on April 8, 1959, to Donald and Leota (Hill) McSweyn.

Jamie had a warm and caring nature that made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her laugh was always distinguishable amongst a crowd, as she laughed often with her friends and family, with whom she cherished the time she spent. Jamie was undoubtedly the giving type, as all who knew her could attest through her love of the Christmas season and sometimes overzealousness with gifts.

Throughout her life, Jamie developed a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a natural talent for crafting and enjoyed expressing herself through art. Her own house, as well as some others, were gifted with Jamie’s hand-made decorations and art pieces. Jamie was also an avid traveler, with a passion for traveling and going on cruises. She loved exploring new destinations and trying whatever new food looked and sounded delicious, or shopping at different locations and seeing what fun gifts and keepsakes she could find. One of Jamie's favorite pastimes was playing board games gathered around
the table with friends. Whether she favored the games or the company, she
always enjoyed the time she got to spend playing with others.

Jamie found solace and relaxation staying in her travel trailer at Gambill’s Landing in Pinconning, where she would also go fishing out on the Saginaw Bay and enjoy getting ice cream at Purtell’s Restaurant. When relaxing, Jamie was an avid reader and particularly fond of Stephen King novels. Anyone who knew her knows she appreciated seeing movies and watching the latest crime docuseries. When it came to entertainment, one of her joys in life was attending plays. The theatre was always something she enjoyed, from large scale productions in New York and Toronto to the local shows at Midland Center for the Arts and the Hemlock High School Theatre Program.

Jamie is survived by her father, Donald “Duke” McSweyn; her son, Ben (Whitney) Stadler; and granddaughter, Carter Stadler. In addition to her family, Jamie leaves behind a legacy of true friendship. She touched the lives of countless individuals, but would want mention of those friends who held a special place in their hearts for her: Barb Coughlin, Tom Walker, Lynn Manchester, Lynn Rossow, Jeri Sherman, Deb Harrington, Sue Smith, DeAnna Benjamin, Barb Williams, and JoAnn Kushion. Jamie would also undoubtedly want a special mention to her beloved dog, Vivian. Jamie was preceded in death by her mother, Leota McSweyn; and her brother, Jeff McSweyn. Jamie Lee McSweyn's departure has left an emptiness in our hearts, and all those who loved and admired her will attest that her friendship and most memorably, her laughter, will be missed. Her memory will always be cherished, her kindness invariably missed, and her spirit forever remembered.
