It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jamie Eugene Morris who left this world at the age of 90.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Don Butler, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Jamie was born June 23, 1935 in Chapman, AL to the late James Ivy Morris and Shelly Townsend Morris McKenzie. His career as a salesman for Neal Furniture Company in Columbus, GA allowed him to make many lifelong friends due to his friendly personality. He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple and meaningful things in life—his home, his family, the beauty of the outdoors and his church, Mt. Shadows Community Church. His home was always a place of comfort and welcome, filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of those he loved most. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in the generations that gathered around him. He had a deep appreciation for nature and spent many happy hours outdoors, whether tending to the farm, enjoying quiet moments under the open sky, or sharing the wonders of the natural world with his children and grandchildren. Those moments created memories that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Morris of Pine Mountain, GA; children, Greg Morris of St. Augustine, FL, Beth Morris Harmon (CL) of Atlanta, GA, Michael Morris (Maryann) of Pine Mountain, GA, Janet Morris Hart (Bill) of Columbus, GA, Vicki Morris Mooney (Nick) of Kathleen, GA, Keith Burgess (Mechele) of Columbus, GA and Janice Sims of Pennsville, NJ; former wife and lifelong friend, Joyce Harp of Columbus, GA and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted, those so desiring may make contributions to Mt. Shadows Community Church, 114 Mountain Shadows Rd. Hamilton, GA 31811 or https://www.paypal.com/donate?token=t75yepn2EY81qjkW02Pmp8TbkDdnb9s31vGirnjaC0wpUm6hQzIZUTPJyF2mKY2n6qYKEfCADgYFuVh5
