Jamie Roark Obituary

Jamie Ray (JR) Roark, 54, of Cole Camp, passed away Saturday, October 19th 2024 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1969, in Sedalia, Missouri, a son of Ray and Margaret "Maggie" (Brauer) Roark.
JR was baptized March 15, 1970, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. His baptismal sponsors were Delores Pitts and Gladys Steffens. On May 22, 1983, he was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. He grew up in Cole Camp and the surrounding area and attended The Lutheran School and Cole Camp High School. While in school, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball.
On June 20, 1989, he was blessed with a son, Daniel Ray with Jessie Danielle Sparks.
JR was united in marriage to Jamie Lynne Vernon on July 29, 2000. During and after high school, he worked as an automotive repair mechanic, eventually opening his own shop, Cole Camp Automotive. In 2004, he switched careers and became an Insurance Adjuster that took him all over the country, working in a total of 39 states, including DC and Puerto Rico.
His hobbies were off-roading in 4-wheel drive trucks, riding 4-wheelers, deer hunting, camping, rooting for the KC Chiefs, and traveling.
Starting in 2010, he was blessed with the first of five grandchildren and took on the role of Papa with more love and enthusiasm than anyone else.
JR is survived by his wife, Jamie of the home; father, Ray Roark of Cole Camp; son, Daniel Sparks and daughter-in-law Adriann of Cole Camp; brothers Kevin Roark and Jeanice of Cole Camp, Scott Roark and Katherine of Lincoln, and Heath Roark and Tammy of Cole Camp; sister, Stephanie Nicholson (whom he shared a birthday with) and Brad of Sedalia; and five grandchildren, Connor, 14, Cartor, 11, Carson, 5, Isaac, 2 and Isabella, 2 all of Cole Camp.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Roark on January 7, 2024.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the American Legion Post 305 located at 201 N. Maple Street in Cole Camp. This will be a Celebration of Life event, with lunch served starting at 12 pm and from 2-4 pm time will be spent enjoying memories and shared stories.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Benton County Cancer Society in care of Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfuneralhomecolecampmo.com.
