Jamie Ruth Sanders Walker, 91, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025 in her home in Anniston, AL surrounded by her loving family. Jamie worked for a lumber company in Anniston, AL early in her career. She loved art, houses and decorating from an early age. She collected many pretty and unusual pieces to decorate her home. After her marriage to Allen a move was made from Jacksonville, AL to Aberdeen. Jamie had a French Provincial painted brick home built in Aberdeen where she decorated with warmth, charm and elegance. It was lovely and admired by many to be in such a historic location. Her confidence, personality and talent were expressed in her beautiful home. Jamie was a lovely lady. She had been employed by the Federal Government under Federal Judge L. T. Senter in Aberdeen, MS for many years with dedicated service until her retirement. She was involved in many civic organizations, The Golf & Country Club, Aberdeen Garden Club and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She also hosted many luncheons and dinner parties. It was a delight to attend. She was always welcoming and made people feel at ease when visiting. Jamie made many lifelong friends that she treasured. Most of all, Jamie loved her family very much and was always supportive of their interests and endeavors. She was very proud of them. They brought a smile to her face and happiness to her heart. Jamie was a loving aunt and a beautiful lady that will be missed by all who knew her. We will cherish all of our wonderful memories of Jamie. You are at home with the Lord and we love you dear one. We have all been blessed by knowing you.
Survivors include her nephew, several nieces, great nieces and nephews, her brother-in-law, William (Bill) Mort Walker and daughter, Judy of Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 yrs., Allen Akin Walker II of Aberdeen; sister Betty Sue Robinson, parents James Henry and Frona Stella Sanders of Anniston, AL.
Jamie will be buried at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS in a private family burial.
