Jamie Lee Stevens, born on August 26, 1981, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away on October 2, 2025, in La Junta, Colorado. He was the son of Claude F. Stevens and Cheryl (Sharp) Stevens. Jamie's life was marked by his passion for cooking; he enjoyed the culinary arts and aspired to be a chef. Over the years, he showcased his talent by working as a server and cook in various restaurant settings.
Jamie received his education in the La Junta schools. He was not only dedicated to his work in restaurants but also enjoyed playing video games with friends.
He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Stevens of North Henderson, Illinois; son, Logan Stevens of North Henderson, Illinois; brother, Justin Stevens of La Junta, Colorado; half-sister, Shanda Perez of Jeneso, Illinois, Grandmother, Lillian Richardson, Uncle John (Faye), Nephews, Adam Perez of Illinois, Aaron Davis-Stevens and Dillion Castenedena and Niece, Alysia Perez of Illinois; great nephew, Emyrs Stevens and numerous cousins. Jamie is preceded in death by his father, Claude F. Stevens, brother, Brandon Stevens and grandfather, “Grandpa Jack” Jack Sharp.
Jamie's son was his pride and joy! They would sit on the floor for hours and build Legos or play with other toys. Jamie had a great sense of humor. He was always making people laugh. He wanted to open a restaurant and cook fancy dishes. He loved music and even had an electric guitar for a while that he was learning to play. His favorite band was PINK FLOYD. He Had tee shirts, hoodies, silk and cloth wall hangings of the different album covers. And other collectibles. He was liked by many, and GREATLY LOVED BY HIS FAMILY, AND NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE WHAT HIS LOSS TO US IS LIKE. For all of you who had a friendship with Jamie and spent time with him, thank you for being a part of his short life.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, Colorado with Pastor John Dell of First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating. Jamie Lee Stevens will be remembered for his love of cooking, his caring spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.
