WADESBORO - Our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, Jamis Lee Horton, was born February 26, 1987, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of Susie Estelle Little Horton and Walter Frank Bennett.
A gentleman, he was known as Lee to his family and close friends had big and loving heart. He departed this life on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Wadesboro, NC.
He grew up in Wadesboro and attended the Anson County Public Schools. He was a faithful and devoted employee of Darling Ingredients, Inc. in Wadesboro, formerly, Valley Protein. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling to the beach.
Lee attended religious services at Harvest Ministries in Wadesboro.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Jamis Junior Horton of Wadesboro; his mother, Susie Little Horton; his stepfather, Johnny Short both of Wadesboro; his brothers, Jerome Horton and Marquis Horton (Samantha Flowers) both of Wadesboro; his sisters, Latisha “Lisa” Horton of Greensboro, La’Kisha Horton of Albemarle, and Erica Bennett of Wadesboro; his fiancé. Shunda Ratliff of Wadesboro; his aunts, Willie Mae Gatewood of Wadesboro, and Frances Crawford of Albemarle; his uncle, James Crawford (Sherin) of Wadesboro and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Church Cemetery.
The public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Leavitt Funeral Home.
The family is gathering at the home on 39 Kings Street in Wadesboro.
