Jan Balchunas Obituary
Jan Marie (Howell) Balchunas, age 53 of Jefferson, WI passed away on February 18, 2021 surrounded by her family and they know she will always be watching over them. She was born on October 24, 1967 to Billy Scott & Ruth Marion (Heller) Howell in Elgin, Illinois. Jan graduated from McHenry East Campus in 1985 and she married Jerry Balchunas on March 22, 1986.
She enjoyed going on trips with her friends, reading, taking walks, going for boat rides and snowmobiling, if it wasn't too cold. She also enjoyed just being outside and sitting in the sun as much as she could. She worked at GE and leased medical equipment for many years before working for Mimaki in sales.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Scott & Ruth Marion (Heller) Howell, a brother, Brett Allen Howell, a brother-in-law, Thomas "Butch" Robert Balchunas and a sister-in-law, Mary Angela Howell and her favorite dog, Sniffee.
Jan is survived by her husband, Jerry Balchunas, daughters, Michelle and Samantha, her siblings, Scott (Dar) Howell, Susan (Gaither Campbell) Howell, Roger Howell, Billy (Debbie) Howell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at McHenry Country Club (820 N. John Street, McHenry, IL 60050) on Saturday, March 6 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. If anyone would like to share photos of Jan to have there, please email them to [email protected].
