Jan Filipkowski

Jan Filipkowski, 53 of New Britain, beloved husband of Boguslawa (Andrzejczyk) Filipkowska of 28 years, passed away at home on Sunday, January 4, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Lomza, Poland, son of Eugeniusz and Genowefa (Sokolowska) Filipkowski, he came to the US in 2004 and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.
Jan was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved to spending time in nature. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed lake and mountains views. Jan took a great care of his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A loving husband, father and brother, he is survived by his wife Boguslawa; his daughter Karolina Filipkowska and her fiancé Sebastian Kosuda; his parents, Eugeniusz and Genowefa Filipkowski; his brothers: Krzysztof Filipkowski and his family, Miroslaw Filipkowski and his family; his sisters: Elzbieta Filipkowska and Ewa Filipkowska-Cruz with her family; and his loving companion dog, Bruno.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. His funeral service will begin on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 8:45 am at Burritt Hill Funeral Home,332 Burritt St., New Britain, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain.
